I is for…Igloo

We tackled another alphabet craft this weekend to help
reinforce the letter which my Junior Infant son has been learning at
school.  Last week he was working on I,
so he decided that he wanted us to create some igloo’s to put up on his bedroom
letter gallery. We love to use bubble-wrap to paint and print with and I
thought that this would work really well to create an igloo. We decided to add
in some cotton wool ice-bergs as well for good measure.
Here’s what we did:
  1. Added
a dash of water to a squidge of blue paint and brushed this over a large
piece of thin white card and left it to dry.
  2. Cut
out a large oval shape from a piece of bubble-wrap.
  3. Painted
over the bubbly side of the bubble-wrap with white paint.

  4. Stamped
this down onto our blue background.

  5. Lifted
off the bubble-wrap to reveal our igloo. Be careful not to smudge the
bubble-wrap or the effect won’t be as good.
  6. Glued
on cotton wool balls to create an iceberg.

The other letters which we have worked on already include S is for Spider and T is for Tree
