Even Though I Bug You…I Still Love You! Soothe sibling rivalry with these simple Recycled Love Bug Valentines Cards for sibling to make for each other. Recycled Love Bug Valentines Cards for Kids to make

Do you sometimes feel more like a referee than a mom? Dealing with silly squabbles and breaking up tussles between my two youngest two kids is starting to take it’s toll on my own energy levels and my patience is running thin. Sibling rivalry between my 4 and 7 year old kids is at an all-time high right now. (I’m blaming far too much time together over the Christmas break!) So to remind the pair of them how much they really do love each, underneath all of the name calling and wrestling matches, I set them the challenge of making a Valentine’s Day card for each other.

You can take a look at Freddie’s card for his little sister over on Red Ted Art. Keep reading to find out about Bella’s not one, but two cards filled with love for her big brother.

I prepared the bubble wrap heart stamp for her to use. I cut out a heart shaped template from cardboard and bubble wrap and glued the two of them together.

Bella used the sponge to cover the bubble wrap heart stamp in bright red paint and then stamped it into the middle of her card.

Once dried she turned it into a cute Love Bug by sticking on a pair of googly eyes and cut a q-tip in half for his antennae.

I helped to add on her special message. “I think you are…Lovely Bubbly!”

Before gluing down the heart shaped cupcake liner, Bella used sticky tape to attach the q-tip antenna and the wiggly pipe-cleaner tail in place.

She finished off her Love Bug with a cute face using a pair of googly eyes and a marker pen.

And we had the perfect message to add to her second Valentine’s Card. “Even Though I Bug You…I Still Love You!”

We couldn’t wait until Valentine’s Day for harmony to be restored in the house, so Bella rushed to give her brother her finished cards right away. I’m pretty sure I caught a glimmer of a smile on her brothers face as he read them. I know deep down that they would do anything for each other and love each other very much. I just wish that they would show a bit more of this side of their relationship a bit more often.
